Who could forget the beautiful Kingston Jamaican native, and original Dancehall Queen, Dorothy "Patra" Smith? She first surfaced on Shabba Ranks 1993 song A Family Affair, then went on to accomplish her own hits, Romantic Call, Worker Man, and Pull Up to My Bumper. Patra's solo career was successful, yet it seemed her sexy, fun and vibrant image might have surpassed her music. She certainly had some of us ladies running to the braid shop to replicate those "dookie braids", which inspired Janet Jackson's image in Poetic Justice. Patra released her third album "The Great Escape" in 2003 anad "Where I've Been" in 2005. No word on where Patra is today, so if anyone knows please email me.
